About the host

Jean Trebek

A professional Religious Science practitioner, Reiki Master and Sound Healer, Jean has focused on teaching the principles of Religious Science (Science of Mind), and the application of various spiritual techniques, such as meditation, sound healing and affirmative prayer. Jean continues her family’s philanthropic work by overseeing The Trebek Family Foundation. Started with her husband, Alex Trebek, The Foundation generously donates to many educational institutions, crisis intervention facilities, international associations and a musk ox farm. Jean currently serves on the Board of Helen Keller International which promotes health and education world-wide. She also is on the advisory council of the Learning Rights Law Center, and is a member of the Hubbard Council at the National Geographic Society. While raising her two children, she co-owned and successfully operated a flower shop for 17 years in the Los Angeles area. Prior to that, she worked as a real estate property manager. Jean attended Pepperdine University and CA State Northridge.

Alison Martin

Alison is a working actor and writer. Alison won an Emmy for the children’s series A Likely Story, which encouraged children to read. She garnered another Emmy Acting nomination for the Lifetime women’s comedy series The World According To Us. She made her Broadway debut playing opposite Nathan Lane in Neil Simon’s Laughter on the 23rd Floor. Alison has also had numerous guest star and recurring roles in television and film, along with many commercials. Alison has volunteered in the education arena since 2001. She has created sports programs, science classes and robotics programs for many schools. She was president of the Carpenter Parents Association, president of the SOCES PTA and was on the team that created Valley International Prep High School. Alison then had the honor of serving as VIP’s Board President for 3 years. She has a wonderful husband, two amazing children and two funny dogs.
